"Emotions" dropped in 1991 as the second alum from the Pop and R&B singer Mariah Carey. It was seen to receive less promotion than her first effort (which came a year earlier) but sees that she was able to come up with singles that had the potential to be taken out-of-context and still do big things (as the titular track, in particular, was able to do) with more danceable elements added to the mix with the dominance of ballads the first time around. 1. Don't turn the volume up when listening to the title track. Do not play it in an establishment that sells glassware, or any such easily breakable objects. You'll regret it for the rest of your life. Vision of Love introduced us to Mariah and immediately established her as a prodigy, with her five-octave range and four consecutive number-one singles from her debut album. This is Mariah's second album released almost immediately after the first. Boasts the hit Emotions which is an excellent up beat fun track with amazing vocals again, really showcasing her "whistle" register (the high notes). The album is moody, hence the title "Emotions" with a variety of styles of song. Again wrote almost wholely by Mariah herself, this album contains one of Mariah's anthems "Make It Happen".
