------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------

Just bought this album today. Thought I'd write a quickie!

Iv been waiting for it for a loooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggg time. Ever since I heard I Predict a Riot, I've been wanting to know and hear about this band. Two songs later, and the album is finally out.

I was panicing, after hearing the fist song, I thought the album must have been out. Why couldn't I find it? Was it rare? The man in HMV had never heard of them. No, it just wasnt available to buy.

Anyway, without giving too much away about each of the songs, it is definately worth buying.

I see big things for this band, much like when Franz Ferdinand quitely released their album, and look at them now! Iv already seen 'Oh my god' being played on all the pop channels, so once the mainstream kids get ahold of this fun, quirky music, you know its gonna be big.

Maybe in some ways, Id like to keep it a secret, you know, just like when The Darkness were Rock's little secret. They were cool then. Now, they've just become another pop band with guitars.

Anyway, i digress. Employment is a fun, interesting and original album. Drawing on bands such as Blur for likeness, and for me a hint of obscure American band They Might Be Giants.

Overall I'd give this album 8/10. Definately worth buying, and when you can get it for as low as £8.99 on Tesco, you'd be stupid not to. Get it now, before everybody else does!

Favourite songs:

Na na na na na: I dont think this one has been released (yet) but seems to follow in the footsteps of all the others released so far. It is also the theme tune to Channel 4s FAQ U (but dont let the dire show put you off the song). Its short, sweet, snappy and very fun. Easy to sing along to because the lyrics dont change much

I Predict a Riot: The song that introduced me to them last year, and still my favourite. GOod lyrics, and just a little bit funny.

The only downside to this album is the fact that it does get a bit repetitive. They are maybe too quirky for their own good, and there is only so much electric keyboards, and guitar and shouting you can take. I dont think there is a song on the album that doesnt have an "OOOOOoohhh! OOOOOOOhhhh! OOOOOOOOHHHHH!" bit in it. Hard to explain, but if you've heard a song by them, you'll know what im talking about!

Summary: A good album for those not ready to emerse themselves properly in the indie scene

Don't want to give away too much about the songs? This isnt a film review... giving away some more about the songs would have improved my rating. Let me know if you update and I will re-rate @:-)
