Wet Wet Wet. Yes that band fronted by the permagrinned Marti Pellow who tortured us all in the summer of 1994. Remember Love Is All Around. How could you forget? It was at the top for 16 weeks and drove everyone insane including the band. I am sure that song helped in the downfall of the Wets. I maybe a bit of an indie chick with a penchant for classic singer songwriters now but in the 1990s I used to adore the Wets. I used to be every single record, tape every single program and buy all he magazines and papers they were featured in. Boy I was obsessed. I know they were always totally uncool and uncrediable but there were worse bands to be into. Think of the poor people ... Read the complete review

You may not have heard anything from them for a few years, but their music still plays on! Formed in 1983 (they got together at school though) & demos in hand, they approached ‘Rough Trade Records’. Unfortunately or fortunately, whichever way you decide to look at it, the record company was too busy with another band, ‘The Smiths’. Eitherway, Wet Wet Wet set up home with Elliot Davis & they set up their own record company … ‘Precious Organisation’. 3 years later they started work on their first album. Wet Wet Wet released ‘Wishing I was lucky’ in April 1987 & it duly reached Number 6 in the UK ... Read the complete review

Formed in the 1980s and hailing from Clydebank in Scotland Wet Wet Wet had a number of hits in the British charts and all around the world. The band comprises Marti Pellow (vocals), Tommy Cunningham (drums, vocals), Graeme Clark (bass, vocals) and Neil Mitchell (keyboards, vocals). A fifth, unofficial member, Graeme Duffin (lead guitar, vocals), has been with them since 1983. This album is their best in my opinion. The only notable exception is that "Love Is All Around" does not feature. It features many memorable tracks including "Wishing I Was Lucky", "Sweet Little Mystery", "Angel Eyes" and ... I remember many moons ago chancing upon this group and being pleasantly relieved with the style of music. It is not too course and not too cheesy. The allure of Marti Pellow's voice always helps draw me in. Who are they: They hail from Scotland and were really at their peak in the eighties and nineties, one rogue hit 'Love Is All Around' gave them a fifteen week run at number one on the charts. Highlights: 'Sweet Little Mystery' is a charmer of a pop song with bright knowing vocals from Pellow, he sings with a glint in his eye and seems to be at ease with the soppy lyrics, casually wading through them like a hippo in a ... Wet Wet Wet - End of Part One Wet Wet Wet are a band from my childhood. I had a bit of a crush on the lead singer, Marti Pellow when I was younger so I think this boosted my love of the band. Incidentally, Marto Pellow is just a stage name, his real name being Mark McLachlan! Their name Wet Wet Wet, was a title they took from the Scritti Politti song, "Gettin, Havin' and Holdin'". They are a Scottish band which formed in the 1980's. I think they have a quite unusual sound, different to other, dare I say it, boy band, group sounds which separated them from the crowd. What I love is that they have a lot of instruments in their songs which ... Read the complete review
