Escape - Enrique Iglesias

ESCAPE is the title of spanish pop star ENRIQUE IGLESIAS' album. The album features 13 tracks which I will review. The opening song ESCAPE is a powerful song sung with real emotion and a good tune that you can dance to. DON'T TURN OFF THE LIGHTS is a song that starts of slow and builds towards a fast paced chorus with superb melodies. LOVE TO SEE YOU CRY has a memorable chorus sung beautifully although the lyrics can be a little corny. It is very mellow though and does relax yuo while you listen. Within the past six months Enrique Iglesias has gone from being a one hit wonder (namely with the song Bailamos) - albeit with a famous father - to a worldwide megastar. The single Hero got him noticed again, becoming an unofficial theme tune following the September 11th attacks and eventually being released here, to become not only a surprise UK number one for four weeks, but also propelling this album to the top spot as well. Anna Kournikova? Isn't she that tennis player? Have you seen the video of the title track, Escape? I was literally sitting in front of tv to catch a glimpse of this new single. According to friends, it features a lovely young blonde and some really hot scenes. Even one in a car ala Titanic! The young blonde thing is non other than Miss Anna Kournikova herself. Great. When Ricky Martin's away, Enrique comes out to play. "Escape" follows the massive hit single "Hero" and even though there's songs to shake your bom bom at and enough sultry ballads to undress you with there is still that old age Glenn Mediros factor. Latino love gods seem to have a shelf life that makes Hear'say looks like old veterans and before you know it there's someone younger and more sensual to take their place. Enrique, the man who eclipsed Ricky Martin and cornered the market. His first song to be released from the album, Hero, hit the number one spot on the singles charts and is just about the only slushy song on the album, although it is definitely on of the best. However, by far the best track on the album is 'One night stand'. It has catchy tune that you just wont be able to get out of your head once you have heard it, and definitely proves that his album is not going to disappoint customers.
