I'm not sure about the rest of Donavons stuff, but the song Mellow Yellow, it really cool, it was featured in a Gap advert and that made it even more famous, but it really is a great song, the opening bars are simple and genius. listening to this album, Dylan oozes out of the speakers from the first ring of the first note on the first track, up until the very end you know that D Donovan wants a piece of what Dylan has got..not an easy task to accomplish? But once you listen to this album, at the end you feel relieved and relaxed in the fact that Donovan did manage to write some truly amazing songs, most notably the title song, Catch The Wind - a beautiful acoustic love song with the extremely Dylan-esque harmonica in backing. More of the times songs such as The War Drags On and Universal Soldier have very deep meaning and paticualy focus on the truth behind the Vietnam War. Like Dylans ...
