The second substantial release from Black Flag wasn't even allowed to be credited to Black Flag at the time of the original pressing, due to a continuing legal battle with the record company that caused the band to collect these previously unreleased songs together in the first place. 'Everything Went Black' presents the sessions with three different vocalists from the band's early years, often covering the same set of songs: Keith Morris opens with his distinctly Ramones-esque punk croon that never seems especially suited to Black Flag's hostile variant of punk rock, the ever-unreliable Chavo Pederast makes a forgettable impression on the next five, and ...
