Rating:
XTRMNTR Primal Scream have tried everything. ‘Screamadelica’, their most influencial and critically acclaimed album, brought us tripped out, blissfully chilled but also a little self-indulgent, soulful tunes. ‘Give Out But Don’t Give In’ charted their failed voyage into the world of rock, and ‘Vanishing Point’ and ‘Echo Dek’ showed that they’ve learned how to work that sampling machine to the maximum. But before you listen to this album, you should forget about what you expect to hear. ‘Kill All Hippies’ opens with a sample from the film ‘Out of the Blue’ and readily speeds up to a ...

Rating:
This has to be one of the best albums of 2000. Here Primal Scream infuse dance electronic beats with heavy rock guitars and mind-blowing basslines. Dont be put off by the political undertones the passion and true meaning behind Primal Scream's lyrics is enough to start a riot and change any facists mind. This album actually feels like an album instead of just a bunch of songs put together. To get the true feel of it you have to listen to it all together at first and if you're in the right mood for it it shouldn't be too hard. The best songs on here have to be 'kill all hippies'which is very repetitive but still very addictive, 'accelerator' ...

Rating:
more soulful numbers assisted by Denise Johnson. The way the album sounds (ie 1970s Rolling Stones) is not surprising given that the legendary Stones producer Jimmy Miller is at the helm and on listening to the Jimmy Miller produced songs on Screamadelica (as opposed to Andrew Weatherall's more dance/dub production). I actually believe that although Screamadelica is Primal Scream's finest hour, this album must be the best thing the band have done since. ...
