The Ultimate Experience is a very appropriate name for this collection of J Jimi Hendrix most memorable tunes. All the usual hits are here such as hey joe and all along the watchtower along with some great lesser known tracks such as Long hot summer night and gypsy eyes. Its a great introduction for new fans and a good single cd solution ideal for long time fans to keep in the car. The music itself has stood the test of time well and makes the polished, painting by number pop of the likes of X factor look quite pathetic. I have been a J Jimi Hendrix fan for a few years now and when this album was released i had to have it. I new it would be good, and i was right its a great album thats full of typical Jimi in the studio and live on stage. This is really a greatest hits ablum but its not, its like the definitive collection of what Jimi was all about, not his greatest hits oh know, but most of his best stuff is on here. And on thing is that this isn't a Jimi Hendrix Experience album, oh no this is all about Hendrix with songs from his Hendrix Experience days and then his short lived Band of Gypsys days.
