Billion Dollar Babies: Expanded Version - Alice Cooper

Premium Review Worth a Billion (116 words)

and had an Alice Billion Dollar Bill - probably a real collectors item now. The best songs are Elected, Generation Landslide (a live version which is just awesome - decent live Alice material is hard to find, which is odd as he is great on stage!). The title track, Billion Dollar Babies is good and there is some wierd ...

Billion Dollar Babies: Expanded Version - Alice Cooper

Premium Review "He's sick, he's obscene" (295 words)
by cswann - written on 09/09/00 (Very useful, 55 readings)

Sex, violence, outrage, shocking theatrics - Alice Cooper anticipated all the rock trends. If you know him mainly for the songs like "School's Out" or his appearance in "Wayne's World" - well, it's time you explored further, and the 70s albums are a good place to start. Opening track "Hello hooray", with the menacing voice, and its freakshow theme sets the tone nicely. Those expectations were thrown out the window upon first listening because there's no way to prepare for how near-perfect this disc is. "Brutal Planet" is Alice's best CD since the gory days of the original Alice Cooper Group, and the reason is simple: It's like nothing he's ever done. This is a charging, fist-pumping, head-banging version of the usual glam-style treatment we've come to expect from the master of all that is dark and unholy. Every track hits home in some aspect, whether political, social ...

Some songs blend old and new sound together perfectly Most songs don't

Ayreon has peaked, this is an incredible progressive metal epic with hardly any silliness whatsoever What if it's all downhill from here?

Lots of genre variation, great lyrics, 14 tracks Very different from "Opheliac" and later EPs

Greats story telling, funny, offensive, one truly chilling track Too offensive for many

Aghora - Aghora
Excellent and approachable jazzy prog metal from legendary performers. Female vocals sometimes seem out of place, and the style becomes a little repetitive.
