Snow Patrol is a name that have grown in recognition over the past couple of years due to their immense success in the charts. They’re an Irish born band that are most focused on indie music with a little punk and rock thrown in to make their sound unique. This is actually their fourth album release although their former albums, especially the first two, received relatively little success. However since the early 21st century they appear to have become a household name within the indie field. This album “Eyes Open” was released back in May 2006 and quickly found fame within the UK charts, it is still there even today five months on. The album title suggests a new sense ... It may come as a surprise to many people that this album was Snow Patrol's fourth. After having little or no success with their first two albums, Snow Patrol finally gained some recognition with the amazing album Final Straw. In particular tracks such as Run and Chocolate helped turn them into a more well known band. Fast forward to this album and this is the album that turned Snow Patrol into what they are today, a great band with a huge fan base. Many music critics may give off about Snow Patrol and how their music is not doing anything new or exciting but I think they're missing the point. Snow Patrol create good music and it appeals to a wide variety of ... Read the complete review

Snow Patrol are a great band who have been around since 1994. However, people only really started to notice them when they released their thrid album "Final Straw". This included their several global hit singles such as "Run," "Chocolate," "How to Be Dead," and the reissue of "Spitting Games." The band's fourth album, Eyes Open, doesn't fall short from where they left off; in fact, Snow Patrol's hungry rock sound only gets bigger and better this time around. The album is truely amazing and with each song you can relate to it. Gary Lightbody (the lead singer) once again writes songs that are from the heart and ... Read the complete review

It seems that having taken the music scene by storm a couple of years ago Gary Lightbody and Co have opted for a more subtle return. While the Final Straw really seen Snow Patrol hit the big time they followed it up this year with their 4th studio effort, Eyes Open. It had been suggested that The Final Straw would be a hard act to follow and of course this was always going to be the case, but it’s fair to say that Lightbody et all have given it a good go. While its predecessor went multi platinum this latest effort seems less of an assault for more new fans but more an attempt to satisfy those who discovered the band before 2004 and the newer, much larger body of ...
