Advantages: Great songs, good lyrics, bonus tracks

Disadvantages: Chasing Cars although good is overated!

It may come as a surprise to many people that this album was Snow Patrol's fourth. After having little or no success with their first two albums, Snow Patrol finally gained some recognition with the amazing album Final Straw. In particular tracks such as Run and Chocolate helped turn them into a more well known band. Fast forward to this album and this is the album that turned Snow Patrol into what they are today, a great band with a huge fan base.

Many music critics may give off about Snow Patrol and how their music is not doing anything new or exciting but I think they're missing the point. Snow Patrol create good music and it appeals to a wide variety of people.

Highlights on the album:

(2) Hands Open - This is one of my favourite songs from the band. There's just something about the catchy tune and guitar rock that brings a smile to my face. It's even better live particularly since the band normally open their gigs to this track!

(5) It's Beginning To Get To Me - This was never released as a single and in my opinion it should have been. Some absolutely fantastic lyrics feature in this song and overall the track is great.

(10) Open Your Eyes - This tune is just very well constructed, it's one of the longer songs on the album but at no point does it feel like it should've been any shorter. Some great instrumental pieces in the song really make it stand out.

I only picked three songs off the album to describe to you as these are my personal favourites, to be honest I love every track on the album but these are the stand outs for me. Many people will have bought the album or avoided the album because of "Chasing Cars" but I urge you if you get the album please listen to the other tracks. Chasing Cars may be a good song but Snow Patrol have many more much better songs that deserve a listen.

Now that the price of the album has fallen to below £5 this is a must-buy for me and I would recommend this album to anyone. Even if you've never listened to Snow Patrol before, at least give it a listen.
