This album was the start of something great for Lostprophets, but they have let it slide a bit since those days. The album was a great succes and the music was different to what we expect of lostprophets today. It was original, fresh and something people hant heard before but now im afraid to say that the are just another "nu wave indie" band that is the same to the next one we hear. As soon as the money came in they lost their flare for new music and became mediocre. However this album was a very good example of what they were capable of, and tracks like "korbakai" "shinobi vs dragon ninja" and "fake sound of progress" ... Read the complete review

Thefakesoundofprogress was lostprophets debut album released in 2001 and featured two of their singles - shinobi vs dragonn ninja and the fake sound of progress. This album is still my personal favourite by lostprophets and the music is very different from their more recent albums. I use to play this album over and over every day after school and never got bored. Ian has a very distinct voice that switches from melodic to powerful screaming The album features some "pop metal" songs with Ians distinct melodic vocals shining through on songs such as for sure, ode to summer and she told me to leave. Songs such as the handsome life of swing and Kobraki ... Read the complete review

Lostprophets ? Best New British Band (Kerrang Awards) and I'm gonna tell you why, I've heard them live, they are amazing, everything you want from a stage performance. Ok here is my run-down of the tracks. Obscure Intro the first track if you are wondering what's it all about ill tell you, it's a gaming arcade, and they are playing a legendry game Shinobi VS Dragon Ninja, which brings me on to nicely to number 2. A nice new fresh nu-metal sound is heard through out the album, but this is defiantly one song that stands out, it's amazing. Rock, great singing, and a great guitar riff, Very Cool. Next up is the title track, ... Read the complete review

Lost Prophets are stunning. I went to Reading Festival and I'd heard of Lost Prophets before so I saw them on one of the stages when I didnt have anything else to do so I went to have a listen and I was blown away. Dragon Ninja 3) TheFakeSoundofProgress 4) Interlude 5) FiveIsAFourLetterWord 6) ....and She Told Me To Leave 7) Interlude 8) The Handsome Life of Swing 9) Interlude 10) For Sure 11) Kobrakai 12) Still Laughing 13) A Thousand Apologies 14) ... On the first night (Or at least first night for a very long time) I listened to the Radio One rock show I heard Linkin Park, Boy Hits Car and Lostprophets. Having been given an mp3 of a Sunna song earlier the same day and as someone who counts finding new music as one of their hobbies, I’d have to say that was a pretty successful day. The Sunna album was spectacular, what I’ve heard of the Boy Hits Car album bodes very well and Linkin Park were – well, um, not quiet as good as the others. But what about Welsh wonders Lostprophets? The Lostprophets approach to music is to take a big ole slab of hard rock and liberally spread on some hardcore ... Read the complete review
