Advantages: Range of tracks, catchy beats and riffs

Disadvantages: I personally dont think there are any

Thefakesoundofprogress was lostprophets debut album released in 2001 and featured two of their singles - shinobi vs dragonn ninja and the fake sound of progress. This album is still my personal favourite by lostprophets and the music is very different from their more recent albums. I use to play this album over and over every day after school and never got bored. Ian has a very distinct voice that switches from melodic to powerful screaming

The album features some "pop metal" songs with Ians distinct melodic vocals shining through on songs such as for sure, ode to summer and she told me to leave. Songs such as the handsome life of swing and Kobraki show off Ian's range of vocals with a bit of singing followed by heavy vocals. Jamie Oliver who is on the turntables for the band can also be heard with many backing screams during the heavier songs.

This is just an awesome Cd throughout with a range of tracks. The vocals are great and lyrics are also set the standard. The guitar riffs at the beginning of most of the tracks are possibly the most catchy riffs I have heard which lostprophets have carried on doing with each album.

Shinobi vs. The Dragon Ninja is the reason many people have bought this album as it is really addictive with the catchy beat but the range in this album is awesome.

If you are a new found lostprophets fan I recommend you buy this album and see what the band were capable of with hardly any money and before they became so commercial. My personal favourites are The handsome life of swing, Kobraki and for sure.

Summary: Brilliant album
