Advantages: great new sound, contrast of music
Disadvantages: a few songs alike
The first time I heard of or saw the Lostprophets was on T.V when they won Best British Newcomer at the 2001 Kerrang Awards. I will admit that at the time I did not take any notice or show any particular interest in the band. Infact I almost completely forgot about the prophets until about a month later when I had a dream. I dreamt that I was at a huge awards ceremony and loads of famous people were there. I was sitting in my seat with my friends and when I turned around the Lostprophets were sitting behind me and for some reason i was really excited. The strange thing is I didn't actually remember what the prophets looked like and it was one of those dreams where the peoples faces are hazy but I knew it was them because one of them had blonde hair (lee). I know this sounds kinda stupid but I swear this is how it happened. The day after I found the tape I had recorded the awards on and watched it again. The next thing I did was buy their album and I am pleased to say that I don't regret it at all. It goes from smooth melodic tunes, to hard shouting ones. It is one of my best and most treasured albums and I can't wait until their next one. I think this album is a must buy, and although some of the tracks sound slightly alike they all have their own story and the Lostprophets are deffinitely a great unique band.

- 06/08/02 A little more about the music and a little less about the ceremony and the dream would have been more useful. I was thinking about buying this album, and I'm not really any closer to a decision right now! |

- 05/08/02 I think you need to talk a little more about the Prophet's style, and give an idea of what the album is like.
I got invited to the Kerrang awards last year,I so wish I'd gone.:-(Bec |

- 05/08/02 Hiya and welcome to dooyoo :)
Wow that was kinda weird! I don't think I've ever bought an album on the strength of a dream!
Despite this review being interesting, it's not very useful from a consumer perspective. I've never heard of the Lost Prophets (sorry!) and after reading your review I'm not very mcuh the wiser. Maybe you could define their style, amd tell us a bit more about the tracks on the album?
Have look at advice from other users here:

It's definitely worth reading and rating around the site to see which reviews get the best ratings (and therefore the most reads).
Have fun!
