Fallen was the first album to be released from Evanescence. It combines rock with melody to make one of the best albums of the decade. Amy Lee is a stunning singer and hits all the notes whilst the band do a great job to back her. The songs combine vocals, guitars, bass and drums with a choir of many voices making the album have a distinctive haunting feel, while strings make the songs slightly orchestral yet very smooth! The combination of all these factors make Evanescence great and this a brilliant album! Fallen Great start to the album. This song symbolises what will come later, heavy guitar balanced by beautiful piano! Bring Me To ... Read the complete review

As of the present day, Ben Moody, the co-founder of the Little Rock outfit, has departed to pursue his own interests, which have so far included co-writing ‘Nobodys Home’ with Avril Lavigne for her 2004 album entitled ‘Under My Skin‘. With Moody off trekking the world, Amy Lee has been left to pick up the pieces from his rather abrupt departure during their last European tour, and given the task of producing a follow up the 2002’s finest album ‘Fallen’, she knows that the worlds media will be at her front door once any inkling of failure becomes clear. Well best of luck to her, as there is no doubt she has the quality and attitude to succeed with or without Moody. So ... Read the complete review

THE QUICK REVIEW (For those in a hurry) "Fallen" is the debut major release from the delightfully goth-tinged Evanescence. Chief amongst its attractions is the catchy single "Bring Me To Life", currently flying high in the movie "Daredevil". From the moment I heard "Bring Me To Life" on Launch, I was totally hooked and had to get the CD. Currently only available on import, it set me back a whopping £15.99, an amount I would never normally dream of spending on a single CD. That's how much I think of this band! Evanescence will appeal to you if you like your music loud, but also dark, haunting and at ... Read the complete review

I've had this review sitting on my hard drive for the best part of four months now but never got around to posting it for one reason or another. However after going to the Carling Academy in Glasgow a few days ago to see the band's first live Scottish gig and being lucky enough to meet lead singer Amy Lee, I decided it was about time I dusted off the ol' computer and let you all read my thoughts on Amy and the band, their debut album and their live performance. ~~~~~~~~~~ Many of you have probably heard of Evanescence after the success of their first two singles "Bring Me To Life" and "Going Under" but they seemed to ... FALLEN is the title EVANESCENCE's album. The album contains 11 tracks which I will review. The opening song GOING UNDER is a powerful opener with fantastic instrumental work from the guitar and drums. The vocals are haunting and produce a beautiful sound. BRING ME TO LIFE is a fast paced more rocky song which starts of slowly and gets faster at the chorus when the instruments kick in. The lyrics are excellent and vocals superb. EVERYBODY'S FOOL has a lovely intro which brings in the vocals that are sublime aided by the instruments that ghelp guide the melodies along. My favourite song on the album is MY IMMORTAL. This is a ... Read the complete review
