From the man who brought us the epic space rock opera Ayreon, Arjen Anthony Lucassen is proud to present another collaboration of epic proportions entitled Ambeon, in which he is joined by the phenomenal Astrid van der Veen on vocals. One thing is for sure: Ayreon fans need apply, and because the albums initial concept has evolved from one of ambient soundscapes into a wider sprawling project, Fate of a Dreamer crosses over into many different categories including 70's electronic minimalism, Celtic, ambient, progressive, space rock and of course rock opera, aided by Astrid's souring and charismatic tones. With this one-time Ambeon project starring young talent Astrid van der Veen, Dutch geek musical genius Arjen Lucassen finally found an outlet for his ambient electronic side that tended to get in the way of his metal-oriented offerings. Under his customary pseudonym Ayreon, Lucassen had recently released the two-part sci-fi epic 'The Universal Migrator,' the first album consisting of spacey, ambient soft rock unpopular with some fans, that required an apologetically loud and rocking follow-up.
