2008 release 'Feel the Blade' by Netherlands thrash outfit Legion of The Damned is actually a rerelease of an earlier album, entitled 'Elegy for the Weak' released under the band's old name, 'Occult'. I've seen Legion of the Damned live a couple of times now supporting other bands and this release is much like their live performances- solid, gratifyingly violent and enjoyable, but also workmanlike, monotonous and somewhat unoriginal. The band's sound basically consists of a mixture of fast tremelo riffs and repetitive, thrash drumming mixed with heavy, chugging mid-paced breakdowns, with plenty of nods to old Kreator and the odd blatant Slayer riff thrown in. ...
