Advantages: really nice music
Disadvantages: -
Norah Jones is contemporary jazz singer-song writer who had won several Grammy awards including Best New Artist in the past years. Her first album entitled Come Away with Me was released in 2002. Her single "Don't Know Why" which was included in this album has landed on top in the Billboard. Also won album of the year in the Grammy.
Feels Like Home was her second album released in 2004. In fact, it was reported as the second best-selling album that year. Her first single "Sunrise" - won a Grammy award the following year. The songs here are composed of a very soothing jazz experience with a twist of country mellow bit that would make you groove such as the song "Creepin' In". Consist of 16 songs: Sunrise, What Am I to You?, Those Sweet Words, Carnival Town, In the Morning, Be Here to Love Me, Creepin' In, Toes, Humble Me, Above Ground, The Long Way Home, The Prettiest Thing, Don't Miss You at All, Sleepless Nights, Moon Song, and the bonus track, I Turned Your Picture To The Wall.
This album also include a bonus VDC or DVD, which features music videos, live performance and her exclusive interview.
Listening to her songs feels like a soothing breeze for me. The melody, the soulful/acoustic sound is perfect for easy and relax listening after a day of work. I usually listen into it when I am working something late at night or I just want a relaxing music before I sleep. This album has been included in my top 10 most played CD since I bought a copy back in 2005.
She's really gifted singer and a talented, rare song-writer. I like much listening to the sound of her music than to listen to common mellow, love, pop song. I'm not really a listener of jazz or related genre because I prefer noises from my favorite band but her lovely voice captivates my listening attention. No regret I have this album on my music collection that I can really treasure throughout time. If you like Norah Jones, Feels Like Home is definitely your must have.

- 12/03/09 That it's 'really nice music' is its problem: pleasant-ish while it's on, forgotten the moment you take it off. IMHO. |
