filippa Giordano? not heard of her? Well after reading this I suggest you do, her album is absolutely sensational! my mum was the one who introduced me to her music. I'm 21 and don't really rate classical, I think It's hard to listen too and would quite honestly rather listen to Lady Gaga, However my mum said " Just listen to her, you won't have heard anything like it, I can't put my finger on what she sings and sounds like". I discovered Filippa Giordano on the Classical Brit Awards and I'm hooked. Her eponymous album is absolutely outstanding. I do not have enough knowledge of classical music or opera to wax lyrical on her skills or the musical arrangements all I know is that since I bought the album on Friday it has not stopped playing. The first (and last) track is casta diva which she sung at the Brits. It is from the opera Norma by Bellini. I had never heard of the opera before but now I really want to see it.
