you've previously done put together has its downsides, namely everybody forgetting instantly any previous work. Whilst 'Lovefool' has proved to be something of a millstone around the necks of The Cardigans for their subsequent careers, the band have produced some exceptional and underrated pop albums which show a greater depth than the catchy 20-second chorus they have become renowned for. The Cardigans, previously purveyors of bouncy, bubble-gum pop songs such as 'Rise & Shine' and 'lovefool' surprised me with this album.We are in dark areas of The soul for parts of the album, but carried along by a laid back, mellow groove. It seems as though Nina & the boys have been looking closely at their own relationships and there are some deeply personal songs on here....all carried along by a very clean, distinctive guitar style.The second track on the album is the deeply wonderful 'Erase & Rewind' which has a riff to kill for and beautiful vocals and further into the listing is the other recognisable single 'My Favourite game', ...
