Formerly known as Paris, Poison was formed in 1984 by singer Bret Michaels, bassist Bobby Dall, and drummer Rikki Rockett. After traveling from Harrisburg, PA, to Los Angeles, CA, the band added guitarist C.C. Deville to their lineup. When Poison released their debut album 'look what the cat dragged in', it seemed a very apt title. Brett, Ricky, CC, and Bobby took glam rock to the extreme, plastering on more make up than all the members of Vixen put together. Other bands of the time classed them as trash and there was well known hostility between the boys from Poison and the boys from Guns N' Roses, (rumoured to be because Slash had tried out for the band and been turned down for being too ugly!)
