Floodland manages to stand the test of time respectably well and is one of those unusual old 'gothic' albums to have a handful of highlights. Firstly the opening Dominion/Mother Russia is still as powerful as it was back in the day, and the superb eerie piano ballad 1959 is still one of my favourite pieces written by the band. These are two pieces I instantly look forward to when giving Floodland a spin! Undoubtedly the best track on the album is the ten minute top 10 single This Corrosion, which opens with a haunting choir before a high tempo and industrial burst with powerful vocals and visions. Whilst still being very much on the music scene, if the fan pages are to be believed, it has been a long time since there has been an album release which would appear to suggest that the band are no more, although apparently they have ...
