 ... i'm not too sure, i have bittersweet feelings. What to say? It's different to former albums. It's sound, anyway. Lyrics are still as cryptical, brilliant etc as they ever were. In my opinion. Most songs are ok. A couple of others are..... mmm. Yeah It's hard to explain. In there sound, i think they've got there hands on the effects boxes and Yamaha keyboards... but it's all i can really say that makes sense. Over all it's a good album, but easily forgotten. ...more

Admittingly not have listened to this album in a while, it must have say. Well, you listen to it couple of times, then it goes back to the CD rack... only to be listened to when say, writing a review. Compared to it's last album which i think was evergreen, but i'm not too sure, i have bittersweet feelings. What to say? It's different to former albums. It's sound, anyway. With the exception of 'Nothing Lasts Forever' and 'Forbidden', 'Evergreen' was a predictably uninspired comeback album. Not a bad album, but not really enough to justify the comeback. The follow-up, 'What Are Are You Going To do With Your Life' was a breathtaking surprise, an instant classic and arguably their finest recording. It is a particularly hard act to follow. So does 'Flowers' disappoint ? Well, yes, it does. What disappoints most is that the band have chosen not to continue on the acoustic-led path laid out by their previous album, but instead try to recapture the quirky exoticism of Ocean Rain.
