FOLLOW THAT DREAM is a CD release from the Elvis Presley specialist record label FTD. This is related to Elvis' film of the same name. When the film was released in 1961 there was no accompanying album, instead only an EP ('Extended Play') with a small number of songs from the film on it. This release rectifies that with other associated songs, including a wide variety of alternate takes and outtakes which are useful for the Elvis scholar to see the development of the songs.

One of my favourite songs on the album is ANGEL. This song really shows Elvis' vocal range and also has some really good double-bass playing from Bobby Moore, who played bass on a lot of Elvis' songs from this period. Another great song is WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE and the versions here are a little rougher than that which was released as the 'master' version of the song.

All in all this isn't really an essential album but is a useful purchase for people who would like to hear how songs from this film were developed in the studio.
