Advantages: Valhalla, Barbara anne cover
Disadvantages: Not so amazing tracks
This is the second album of one of the best known power metal bands, Blind Guardian. This album is of pure powermetal and will sound strange to newer fans of the band that are used to the more symphonic inclinated nightfall on middle earth and a night at the opera (among others), but you will not find it strange since this album is from 1989. The first track is an interesting monk choir that might sound familiar to ppl that saw monty pytons quest for the holly grail. Valhalla, banish from sanctuary and damned for all time stand out of the other has great power metal songs with very catchy choirs (valhalla mostly). Don't break the cricle is a wanderfull metal song, extremely catchy with beautifull guitar sounds. Fast to madness is another song with great choir (ride...fast..to madness) and very interesting lyrics. Has a long time fan of the Beach Boys I loved the metal cover of barbara anne, very funny and interesting. Recomended to die hard fans of the band and lovers of 80s power metal. newer fans of this kind of sound might be a bit dispaointed. Tracklist: 1-Inquisition 2-Banish from Sanctuary 3-Damned for All Time 4-Follow the Blind 5-Hall of the King 6-Fast to Madness 7-Beyond the Ice 8-Valhalla 9-Don't Break the Circle 10-Barbara Ann

- 22/05/04 If you're reading this, you should definitely re-do your review so it doesn't repeat halfway through! I've got their "Nightfall in Middle Earth" album which I like a lot, but the guy's voice gets on my nerves sometimes. I like it when he sings in a high voice though, especially on the track "Mirror Mirror." |
