Taking the name of this from the second album from Eric B. & Rakim, the Nu-Metal band KoRn came with their third album in 1998. With it using this title, you can tell that the Hip Hop side of their material is to become a lot more prominent in this record. 1-12 *silence* 13. "It's On" After twelve track, all contacting five seconds worth of silence, you come to a track which has them getting straight into some deep Metal work, it has them go for something pretty typical in terms of Metal, and they only show some originality through the use of some strange sounds, but aside from this, it wasn't saying a lot in particular. ... 'Follow The Leader' is the third studio album from Korn, it was released in 1998 and saw the band edge slightly away from the genre of nu-metal. There's still quite a nu-metal sound present here for the most part, a definite hip-hop influence; this was the first album with which the band signalled its intentions to move away from the genre though, only slightly but by enough to let you know that with the next album the nu-metal sound would probably be no more. The album consists of a stonking great 25 tracks, the problem here however is that the first twelve are silent so what you actually get here is thirteen tracks (and a hidden bonus track also). The finest band in the world's (that's KoRn to you) third and most successful album is generally considered their finest work. The Bakersfield Nu-Metal quintet, Brian "Head" Welch and James "Munky" Shaffer on seven-string Ibanez axes, Reg "Fieldy" Arvizu on five-string bass, David Silveria (most interesting name yet) on drums and Jonathan Davis handling vocals and bagpipes (don't act shocked) have successfully managed to produce an album that appeals to the masses whether they are fans of KoRn's unique "seventies funk hip-hop bagpipe metal" (don't worry if this conjurs something very disturbing in your head, I ... 'Follow The Leader' was the first CD that I ever bought, and it is one of the best CDs that I own. I was a bit miffed when I first put it into my CD-player because at first I didn't know that the first 12 tracks are blank so I thought I had been given a faulty CD. Then I looked at the back of the case and saw that the first track was in fact number 13. After I had cleared this up I was able to listen to the Nu-Metal masterpiece that is 'Follow The Leader': Track 1-12:Blank Track 13:It's On!(4:28)Opening track, starts with some strange wherring sound before the drums come in. Then comes the thumping bass that shakes my whole ... Read the complete review

Back in the good old days when all kids worshipped the world of pop and all its music, things seemed to be somewhat surreal and phoney. since I've grown up I haven't become evil or a Satan worshipper or anything like how people stereotype the lovers of Metal and Alternative, however I still find this albulm to be absolutely amazing. It was the first albulm done by KoRn which I listened to, and it affected me a lot, as I found that I loved this music and I being just a normal person and all. All I'm trying to say is that those who look at KoRn and think "ooh the music of the devil worshippers" are completely wrong. Anyone can like this music and ... Read the complete review
