FOO FIGHTERS is the title of American indie rock band FOO FIGHTERS album. The album contains 12 tracks which I will review. The opening song THIS IS A CALL is a powerful track which instantly has a great sound through the guitar and when lead singer Dave Grohl's vocals come in the energy is electric. I'LL STICK AROUND contains beautiful vocals superbly aided by the instrumental work which has a more mellow feel. BIG ME is a fun song high on energy and has a superb meody which carries the lyrics along. ALONE AND EASY TARGET tells a good story through the lyrics and the guitar work is brilliant at adding some vigour to the ... Read the complete review

The death of Kurt Cobain means, among other things, that Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl will always be The Guys Who Used To Be In Nirvana. Grohl's new band carries with it the weight of everyone's hopes. With Foo Fighters, he seems to be trying to lower expectations, making what is in many ways nothing more than a glorified demo. Grohl and his longtime producer Barrett Jones (he produced a 15-year-old Grohl's first demos) went into the studio for a week and came out with ""FOO FIGHTERS,"" 15 songs on which Grohl plays and sings everything (except for a one-song appearance by Afghan Whig/fellow Backbeat member Greg Dulli). Few ... Read the complete review

Foo fighters was the first album from the band foo fighters. The album was quite rushed, or quite poorly made and was entirely made only by Dave Ghroal. The songs aren't recorded that well and most were done I just one take. Dave groal admitted that it was a bit more of a promo album rather than a finished piece and I think if they could have they would have recorded it a bit better at the time but perhaps the funding wasn't there when they needed it. This is a call starts off the album very well, it's a quite catchy pop rock song with a great chorus and a very sing along able verse too. However the song never really seems to get going and is very repetitive ... Read the complete review

Some people would say that no matter what he does, Dave Grohl will always be best known for being Nirvana's drummer. Do I agree with that though…NO! I agree that those people may have their reasons though. Over the course of two and a half years between the late-1991 release of Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and the gunshot with which Kurt Cobain ended his life in April of 1994, admittedly, Nirvana turned the rock music world upside down. They almost single-handedly dragged alternative music from the underground to the mainstream, and that achievement, coupled with Cobain's death, created a legacy them that has, if anything, grown more ... In 1994 after the death of Kurt Cobain a question mark hung over the futures of the remaining Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic Well towards the end of 94 and the beginning of 1995 Dave Grohl answered that question. He had been working in the studio on the debut album for his new band the Foo Fighters. This was to be a band Grohl would lead from the front but this debut album was written and performed in full by Grohl himself taking on all duties from front to back. After the release of the album the band was announced as follows: Dave Grohl : Guitar, Vocals and Drums (obviously not when they were playing Live) Pat Smear: Guitar Nate ... Read the complete review
