Advantages: can see their potential

Disadvantages: poor recorded repetative songs

Foo fighters was the first album from the band foo fighters. The album was quite rushed, or quite poorly made and was entirely made only by Dave Ghroal. The songs aren't recorded that well and most were done I just one take. Dave groal admitted that it was a bit more of a promo album rather than a finished piece and I think if they could have they would have recorded it a bit better at the time but perhaps the funding wasn't there when they needed it.

This is a call starts off the album very well, it's a quite catchy pop rock song with a great chorus and a very sing along able verse too. However the song never really seems to get going and is very repetitive the way through.

Floaty is a more relaxed song than the others. It starts off with acoustic guitar and even when the electric and drums come in its still a slow song, it sounds a bit odd and even though I quite like the song it does get a bit repetitive through out.

Oh George is another song that is quite respectable off the album, the lyrics are pretty good and the singing on it is fairly decent as well. This one isn't as similar throughout as perhaps some of the other ones are however I still feels it needs something else in there, its still not a hit single.

1. This Is a Call
2. I'll Stick Around
3. Big Me
4. Alone + Easy Target
5. Good Grief
6. Floaty
7. Weenie Beenie
8. Oh, George
9. For All the Cows
10. X-Static
11. Wattershed
12. Exhausted

To say this album was recorded all by Dave Ghroal himself its easy to see what a talent the guy is, the album wasn't that good but it showed just about enough potential to give Dave the break he needed and to then go on and start up the band that is now the foo fighters.

Summary: Foo fighters at their rawist form
