Dave Grohl wrote some of the stuff on this album during his times in the slightly well known band, Nirvana, however most was written a mere few months after KC popped his cloggs and therefore under difficult circumstances.
Some people might think of the Foos as a 2nd generation Nirvana with, at one point, two thirds of the band involved in the Foo Fighters but their songs are so much more complicated, offering a less accessible, but ultimately better sound.
Foo Fighters/Foo Fighters is a brilliant acomplishment with all the songs sonding sublime, each with their own unique 'feel'. There are some sogs on here which I believe should have been much more popular when they were released, such as 'I'll stick around'.
I can't convey enough how good this album is. It's worth buying just for the song 'for all the cows'.
