For The Birds - Frames

There is only one problem with this record; it might cause you to become extremely frustrated, as for years the Frames have created wonderful, touching, perfect songs, yet they have never been recognised for it. On For the Birds this is also the case, only the songs are even more beguiling, and if this does not make the world sit up and listen to the Frames, then nothing will. What happens when the heart just stops is one of the most tender moments you are likely to hear on any album. Glen Hansard might be better known internationally for his role in the Commitments film (he was the one with the Carter haircut playing guitar) but that is all going to change. 'For the Birds' is Hansard's band the Frames 4th album. If there is any justice, it will propel them to stardom for it is truly an outstanding achievement. The recording of the album was divided between Chicago and Kerry and the sleeve notes remark how the individuals and landscape of both locations were a major influence in moulding the album.
