Hailing from Italy, Dark Lunacy are so far removed from the overcrowded and tediously repetitive Swedish melodic death metal scene that their own take on the genre is permitted to be radically different and distinct. Their second album 'Forget Me Not' is one of my favourites of the genre, forsaking the usual clichés and gimmicks that drag it down, such as cheesy throwback lead guitars and an over-use of breakdowns, and instead infusing classical elements with greater success than almost any other band that attempts something similar.
