Control Denied was the short-lived side project of death metal's founding father, the late Chuck Schuldiner, and an impressive example of the musician's flair for diversity and progression. Ostensibly formed as an outlet for Schuldiner's less extreme metal tendencies, Control Denied is still a beastly creation and not for the faint-hearted, despite the seeming accessibility of Tim Amyar's high vocals in place of what would typically be Schuldiner's raspy shriek.
