be mistaken as an "Escape From Death Row" reunion album. And it very well could be, for better or for worse. While the frenetic beginning, "Calling Shots," finds Kurupt displaying the brash, rapid-fire lyricism for which he has earned a reputation, not all of Streetz maintains such intensity. Songs like the R&B-infused "Welcome Home" opts for more laid-back rhyme styles and proves much less exciting. The musical soundscapes, too, are decidedly upbeat (the punchy "Neva Gonna Give Up" with Nate Dogg on the hook), but the album relies on too many sounds mimicking the dated Zapp and Parliament sounds of the G-Funk era.
