Advantages: Hate filled lyrics and stunning guitar work

Disadvantages: They're still young and learning

Silverchair released Freak Show back in 1997 and upon its release Silverchair went on to be truly recognised as one of the big boys of rock. With the opening track Slave Silverchair showcase a monster riff with hate filled lyrics; this is the theme throughout the album. With song titles such as Slave, Freak, Abuse me, No Association and Learn to hate its obvious that this is going to be an album of angst filled rock. Silverchair do show their mellow side in this album also with songs like Cemetery and Abuse me but the majority of the songs aren't very mellow at all. I would have to recommend this album to everyone, as it’s a superb offering from a truly great band.
