Advantages: Some brilliant rock songs on here!! Burn baby burn notibly one of them

Disadvantages: Some childish songs too

This album is very good, ash doing what they do best. Good rock, indie music.
Tim Wheeler as good as always with this album.

Walking barefoot - This song is a good opener, catchy and upbeat. The start is calm and slow, but the song sprouts into life with some great rock riffs. The song has a really good chorus, and a nice little solo just over a minute and a half in. I rate this song 8/10.

Shining light - Has a great solo intro before the bass/drums and singing kicks in. Although the song is quite calm and quiet compared to the first song it is very memorable. Most people know this song so shows the impact it has made.7/10 it is a very indie inspired song but has had the rockyness dulled down a tad. But why not, it works well!

Burn baby burn - Now a song for the album which everyone does know. Its fast with awesome guitar riffs, great drumming and excellent lyrics. Tim Wheeler makes this song sound exactly like previous ash tracks - superb. At 2.15 in you get a solo, not the longest/fastest or most complex but for the era a pretty good attempt. 10/10 the best song on the album by far. And is seen by many as their favourites too. Have a listen and see why.

Candy - The start of this song sounds like an oldie, but with the introduction of acoustic guitar/piano and slow bass. It soon progresses into a much more modern track.

Cherry bomb - This song starts off with a dirty sounding riff. Which brings in the verse. The lyrics seem quite basic and not very taxing at all. The chorus is not much more exciting than the verse which apart from the music is quite flat and boring. Although the riff is the same throughout it does nothing to help this song.
In my eyes its repetitive and annoying.

Submission - A quiet start but sounds almost like it could be some sort of dance track. Until Tim starts singing which to be fair makes it sound like a proper song but not a very good one. Ash can do so much better than this. Awful.

Someday - A nice cheery start to this song, Tim showing a bigger range of his vocals with this song. You also get the hint of violins in the background through the verse. Its very peaceful and calm. Does not seem like the rock band we are used to hearing.
For the second verse you get a bit more, with some drumming adding to the backing. AT 2.40 you get some electric guitar solo along with an emphasis on the violins. Together the tracks works quite well.

Pacific palisades - This is a fast paced song, and the chorus is very catchy, but don't get to carried away it seems very amateur to me. Maybe I'm being a little harsh. Its not too long either.

Shark - A song known from being used on Sony's game Gran turismo for two reasons, 1) Its amazing and 2) Its such a good song to drive cars too.

Sometimes - A memorable intro to this song and riff make it brilliant. It was one of their singles and a hit too! Simple verses which are calm and easy going. The chorus are more vibrant and have more life in them. The contrast works well, an enjoyable song!

The album starts off leaving you wanting more, and by god does the album deliver. By the time you reach the end of the album you will have taken one hell of a ride, and wanting to play it through again. The ever changing music and style is definitely a way forward for the band if this is anything to go by. The band does seem a little childish at times which is a shame. Lots of tracks all giving their own surprises to you and all full of energy and excitement. Go on sing as loud as you can to this album! You know you want to!
A worthy album at any cost. Go and buy it!

Summary: A good album by Ash, although they have better.
