... favourite cd that i listen to in the car , which tells you it self that it does not get boring listening to it. I also especially like track 3, which is called keep you much longer. I found it catchy, good lyrics and had a good beat to it. i also liked the last track, clap again, that had a good beat also. This album is very different from his previous album releases, his tracks are mainly easy going, chilled out and relaxing compared to the gangster like songs, singing and rapping about drugs, in konvicted and trouble. ...more

Premium Review Freedom - Akon: Akon is gradually going downhill (1742 words)
by - written on 08/03/09 (Very useful, 177 readings)
Rating:

Akon is one of the biggest names in hip hop & R&B, he's collaborated with countless artists such as: Gwen Stefani, Shontelle, Eminem, T Pain, Snoop Dogg & Lil Wayne among many others. Akon's real name is Aliaune Thiam although he once announced that his name was Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam! Akon hails from Senegal. Akon became the first artist ever to hold the number one & number two spots simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart twice. Akon's third album 'Freedom' was released 2nd December 2008 & is the first album of his not to carry a 'Parental Advisory' sign on it which is another sign that he ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Akon Does Euro-Pop (1214 words)
by - written on 20/01/09 (Very useful, 107 readings)
Rating:

"Freedom" is the third album from the R&B singer and producer, Akon, who made it big with a couple of solo hits as well as countless collaborations with others in the same genre and Hip Hop acts too. This 2008 release marks a change in the artist, and reflects in the title as he isn't restricted to emotive work anymore, and is now able to expand to places he hasn't yet explored. 1. "Right Now" Although it got annoying quite quickly, upon its initial release, this tune was a banger, and one where I could tollerate his decision to go into the pure Pop work as he samples some Euro dance music, to work from, and build into a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Freedom - Akon: I JUST WANNA CLAP AGAIN (625 words)

AKON Recently received this cd for Mothers Day from my daughter, absolutely love it, as she knew i enjoyed his music. Right Now (Na Na Na) Sings about a man breaking up with his girl, and how he wants to make up with her, he obviously misses her, and wishes she was back there to dine with him, Fly with him, very beaty track, and gets me in the remenising mood of times before. Beautiful Was these written about me lol About a man who melts when he sees his girl, he sees her in the club, and wants to get with her, because she is so beutiful, and he sings in high pitched voice, lots of drum beats and makes me feel happy ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review "Freedom" - Akon (392 words)

Rating:

Before hip-hop album "Freedom", i wasn't a fan of Akon. Originally called Acquitted, its the Senegalese- American's third studio album...and i love it after stumbling across it being played by a friend. Featuring money-raking hits such as "Right Now (Na Na Na)", "Beautiful", "I'm So Paid" and "We Don't Care", this is the very best of the R'n'B artist. I assume the UK agree too- with it reaching number one in the album charts following many of its single releases. Before this 2008 release, he had been famous for singles such as "Lonely" and his shrill, piercing and wonderfully unique voice. However, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Freedom - Akon: Akon's musical bid for freedom (318 words)
by - written on 30/04/09 (Very useful, 66 readings)
Rating:

Freedom is the third major release from Senegalese singer Akon, real name Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam (you can see why he just uses Akon for a name). The album features the well-known songs 'Right Now (NaNaNa)', 'Beautiful' and '. I'm So Paid'. Chances are you will have heard these on your radio and they're pretty solid RnB tracks. I'm not so much a fan of the bragging type of song so I didn't like the last song but the other 2 are catchy and both solid efforts. My favourite songs on the album are the first 2 singles and one I'd never heard of before called 'Keep You Much Longer'. Musically these songs are a lot ...  Read the complete review

A great fantasy adventure score with a lots of rich lyricism. A bad reputation for being saccharine.
