Advantages: The music is fast and fun, full of excitement and always a joy to listen to.

Disadvantages: Haters of cover tracks may not enjoy this EP too much.

Originally released in the year 2000, 'From the Screen to Your Stereo' is a seven track EP from the successful pop punk band New Found Glory comprising entirely of cover tracks from some of the bands favourite films. All seven tracks have been given the New Found Glory treatment in order to provide for an entertaining eighteen minute display of cover track glory. This is not the finest display of music you will ever come across, it is however greatly entertaining and hugely fun. To hear the band belting through such classics as Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On' and Cyndi Lauper's 'The Goonies 'R' Good Enough' is absolutely brilliant, for a long time now I have been a huge fan of New Found Glory and for me this EP certainly does not disappoint.

The EP actually begins with a cover of The Wonders 'That Thing You Do'. It's fast, it's fun, and ultimately it's hugely enjoyable to listen to. The music isn't to be taken too seriously, it's great to sing and dance along to however and was a great idea I feel for the band to have released an EP of this sort. Hearing the band smash their way through the 'Never Ending Story Theme Song' is absolutely excellent, always I was a massive fan of the film 'The NeverEnding Story' when I was younger and most certainly New Found Glory does this track terrific justice. All the way through this EP the band is hugely upbeat and never is the sound produced here anything short of sensational.

To pick a favourite from this release is a pretty tough one. Both Bryan Adams '(Everything I do) I Do It for You' and Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' do it for me here. Both of these cover tracks are done sensationally well by New Found Glory, such energy and enthusiasm is injected into the music and not for a second does the music ever disappoint. What I have always loved about New Found Glory is the bands ability to make everything they do sound so exciting, this is most certainly the case with this EP and both of these cover tracks are fine examples of the excellence of the music of New Found Glory. Pop punk has always been a favourite genre of music of mine, New Found Glory has long been one of the best bands in this field I feel and with this EP the band definitely showcases a supreme talent for producing frantically fast and massively fun music.

I'm not always a huge fan of cover tracks, most of the time in fact I find them to be really quite irritating. This EP is certainly one that I enjoy though and never does the music of New Found Glory disappoint here in my opinion. Seven cover tracks have been created here and not for a moment does the music ever cease to impress and enthral me. 'From the Screen to Your Stereo' is an EP that I would most definitely recommend listening to, a follow-up has now been released in the form of the twelve track album 'From the Screen to Your Stereo Part II' and to be honest with you I would advise investing in both. The music here is massively fun, it's over all too quickly though given that there are only seven tracks here but my best advice is to just savour the moment and make the most of the eighteen minutes of music that this EP has to offer.

Summary: A strong EP comprising of seven tracks of absolute cover track glory.
