Advantages: nirvana live
Disadvantages: recording quality on a few
From the muddy banks of the wishkah is a live album from the band nirvana and was released in 1996. It was recorded from 1989 to 1994 and features some of their best, and well known tracks.
The second track off the album, or rather the first track and the first is only actually a short intro is school. It a song that stand out to me as it just the kind of fast paced song I liked to hear from nirvana. The guitar really carries the song and Kurt's almost shouting like vocals in parts sound really great as well.
The fifth song off the album is probably the most remembered song from this live album though and that is because of course, its their most well known song. Its performed to perfection as well and its great to hear the song they are famous for sung live by the band, showing full energy on stage as well.
One of my favourite songs by nirvana is lithium though, and it has to be my personal favourite off the album, I think the lyrics to this one are fantastic but more than anything I just love how the songs starts off so slow and his singing is so relaxed and then all of a sudden the chorus kicks in and he goes mental, just a fantastic song with great energy in the chorus parts.

Summary: a top live album

- 15/08/09 Like most people, I went through a teenage Nirvana phase. I recovered quickly, though. xx |
