Yet another classic Gangstarr album filed with song after song of quality, which proves once more why Gangstarr are so highly regarded in the underground hip hop scene. Every song has original hooks with some of the most free-flowing lyrics in hip hop, something most other rappers miss. These two qualities make Gangstarr stand out from the crowd. Sure, Guru's raps can be a bit monotone at times but what album doesn't have a flaw? The lyrics tell interesting stories and about how things are - they don't pretend to be anything they're not. Under the well-rhymed lyrics are superb yet simple beats from DJ Premier, similar to some old skool hip hop tracks that tend to use ... Read the complete review

Gang Starr (DJ Premier & Guru) have earned this compilation. Many artists make greatest hits albums after a few years in the business, but Gang Starr have been doing it for ten years and still have skill like no one else. Premier is considered as one of the best hip hop producers of all time, and he is probably my favourite producer. To the unenlightened, he has produced tracks for Nas (NY State Of Mind), Royce Da 5'9' (Boom - the same beat was sadly also used on the radio edit of Craig David's Rendezvous), Jay-Z (So Ghetto), The LOX (Recognize) and M.O.P (Cold As Ice, aswell as the rest of their last 2 albums). He has dropped some amazing musical ... Read the complete review

DJ Premier and the Guru have been at the forefront of the underground for ten years now, and this retrospective shows why hip hop headz will always acknowledge their genius. The album opens with a live tribute to the late, great Big L, and then blasts in with "BIG L REST IN PEACE". "Full Clip" is a new track, and is a tune that you will never bore of. "Discipline", featuring Total, provides swirling harps and more R+B rhythms. If that's your kind of thing, check out "Royalty", with KC and Jo-Jo, an epic song. "Jazz Thing" is Gangstarr's homage to the greats of the genre, with a swipe at those who think they know ... Read the complete review

Some great tracks namely Kolomiyka and Arkan
It's Diki Tantzi re-packaged and I think I prefer the original version
Wanderlust - Gavin Rossdale
Grunge - 2008
Where Lovers Mourn - Draconian
Great use of male and female vocals.
Instrumental side of things is largely unmemorable.

Talented.
Devoid of interest.

Some very emotional ballads and a couple of rockier ones.
Maybe a little bit the same - little variation
