Xasthur is a US black metal project, masterminded by Malefic, who is soley responsible for vocals, drums, guitars, songwriting and production. Typical of Xasthur's output, "The Funeral of Being" is a piece of hypnotic, depressive, distorted black metal, which combines fuzzy shoegaze riffs and a crudely programmed drum machine with keyboard-sampled chanting/droning voices and Malefic's distant, washed out and incomprehensible screams to evoke an ethereal, otherworldly atmosphere devoid of all life. Dissapointed content. You'll find out in my review The title track is pretty good. The tracks are far too long-winded and the vocals lack any real depth of power.
