I've always struggled a bit with the output of Nortt, a one-man Danish ambient project that attempts to combine the aesthetics of minimalist black metal and the most lethargic and morbid aspects of doom, or "Pure Depressive Black Funeral Doom Metal" as Nortt himself calls it. A few bands, such as France's Mourning Dawn and Germany's Bethlehem (Dark Metal era) have done a great job of combining the two genres, but Nortt's work, whilst decent, has always sounded like neither one thing or the other.
