      It gets my vote!

Not quite sure what I'm doing reviewing a girly album but here goes! Canadian fronted London based band Dragonette have a catchy bubblegum pop electro sound. Had I known the singer was Canadian, I may have stayed away - having had my ears abused enough by them in the past (whingers like Alanis Morissette, Nickelback, Sum41 - the list is endless!)

This hook heavy, grimy, fuzzy pop sounds a bit like a more modernised version of Madonna or Kylie Minogue. The album Galore charted at 80th, which seems ridiculously low considering the fact its extremely accessible music that should appeal across the genres. The singles "I Get Around" and "Take It Like A Man" charted even lower, I don't get it at all - this is some of the best, funkiest and catchiest pop music written for years.

The catchy tunes on the album are numerous from "True Believer" to "Take It Like A Man" and "Black Limousine" (which sounds like Inspector Gadget in a strip club lol) to "Gold Rush", the vocals vary from a whisper to fully belting out and the music is pretty inventive compared to contemporaries in the pop genre, bass guitar sections and piano in particularly spice up the electro sound further.

Although it's by no means from a genre, I'd normally listen to - I'm going to admit that I think that this album rocks and urge you to give it a listen!
