Advantages: A few big tunes

Disadvantages: A step down fro his first

DJ Drama released "Gangsta Grillz: The Album (Vol. 2)" as the follow-up up to his 2007 album with this 2009 album which finds the mixtape DJ (who found fame working alongside some of the biggest names in the Hip Hop game today with individual and group mixtapes for none but the best, and so just as with past work, the DJ hosts for guest rappers and producers. Here the biggest change is the fact that Don Cannon is absent from it, and it appears that, with the majority of the production credits have been given to V12 The Hitman instead.

1. "A-Town" (feat. T.I., Lonnie Mac, Young Dro, Sean P)

Taking it straight to Atlanta in this one, you see that the artists takes on whatever he can in order to build things up as he brings out all the best acts he has available to, and gets them to their best here to show what the capital of Georgia has produce in terms of Hip Hop talent. It is a rough one and gets it off to a killer beginning to hype up the listeners.

**Five Stars**

2. "We Must Be Heard" (feat. Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, and Willie The Kid)

As Luda starts this one off, you see that it is A-Town which dominates this album up to his point as you see that he rips through the thing in a manner which on he could with his fresh style and how it gets across his ideas. V12 The Hitman is behind the bests here, and I felt that it brought out the darkness of this track, and it influenced the artist to adapt the way in which they rhyme for some time.

**Four Stars**

3. "Love For Money" (feat. La The Darkman, Bun B, Willie The Kid, Trey Songz, Gucci Mane, Yung Joc and Flo Rida)

This particular one has one of the biggest line-ups you will find throughout the release, and ii felt that as a result it really stood out as you see that Trey Songz sings the chorus and motivates all the other rappers to be their thing and le loose about their relationship with hustling and how they simply can't help but do this at all times. Not all of the artist have quality in their rhyme,s but generally it is hot.

**Five Stars**

4. "I'm Fresh" (feat. Trick Daddy, Mike Jones and Rick Ross)

This is a killer track on the album and one which sees a huge collaboration of talent as you see that Houston's Mike Jones is made to work with Rick Ross and Rick Ross (off Miami and altogether they come to make a killer tune which shows that there is no beef between them (in spit of how people have stated the relationship of rick and Ross to have been around this time).

**Five Stars**

5. "Day Dreaming" (feat. Snoop Dogg, Akon and T.I.)

This was the lead single to the album and it sees some of the most popular acts on the album coming together to show just what they are capable of when they must attempt to bring what they all do into one single direction and so they choose to do something which seems to fit in most with expectations of what Akon would do with a smooth R&B-styled one form them. Wasn't all that fond of it, due mostly to Akon's role, but there are highlights within the rappers' flows.

**Two Stars**

6. "Sweat" (feat. Ray J, La The Darkman and Fabolous)

You see that there is more of this R&B running through the music as for this one you see that ray J is responsible for much of what you get in here, and with it you see that he calms things down in order to allow the Brooklyn duo to do what they do to the smooth Carter Bradley groove, which has them takes things to the clubs.

**Four Stars**

7. "Ridiculous" (feat. Lonnie Mac, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti and OJ Da Juiceman)

This is another single from the album and it sees a big link up with some common collaborators coming together on Zaytoven's beats and you see that with it they really make the most from it with a fly, excited tune which has them talking listeners through their spending habits and how this is looked upon by others.

**Four Stars**

8. "Come Up Boys" (feat. Willie The Kid and La The Darkman)

Just as with on Drama's first album, this one sees the Brooklyn brothers showing what they are capable of when they partner-up and are made to work off the energy of each other. It is a rough on and sees that they try out something a little different as they get on top of some Breakbeats, and apparently bring this style up to modern times, without making it sound that far out of the times.

**Four Stars**

9. "Yacht Music" (feat. Scarface, Marsha Ambrosias, Nas and Willie The Kid)

This is a classy tune which immediately brings about comparisons with many other tunes form around this time in which people decided to just take things slowly as you see that here things are done in a very relaxed way whilst giving QB's Nas the chance to show how well he can put across the feelings of such a summery tune.

**Four Stars**

10. "Stripper Love" (feat. The-Dream, Too $hort and La The Darkman)

As Tricky Stewart is seen to be behind the production, you just knew that The-Dream would get some part in this one, and you see that he gets a whole verse to himself (in addition to the hook, in order to get you into the mood of the times as this one has things taken to the clubs as Tricky shows how well he is able to do the bassy, strip club-styled beats to pull out the atmosphere. It didn't quite fit in with this album, but it is a nice one.

**Three Stars**

11. "Smoke" (feat. Gucci Mane, Lonnie Mac, Willie The Kid)

The music turns towards the Gangsta rap one again and towards what you tend to expect with the music on this and I felt that it was placed in an odd place within the album as it was a difficult transition of the tune prior to it, and so it didn't really come off as well. It is pretty plain, and doesn't do anything particularly memorable.

**Three Stars**

12. "Pimpin' Ain't Easy" (feat. Jovan Dais, Bun B, Styles P and La The Darkman)

Of course with a track which deals with this kind of thing, you had to take it to Oakland to bring out Too $hort, but in addition to this predictable choice, you also see The L.O.X's Styles P doing his thing on it and showing how well he can do this type of things too. It is afresh one and it was done in away which finally bring a lift which supports the way you think should be within this cut.

**Four Stars**

13. "Gotta Get It" (feat. B.G, Juvenile and Soulja Slim)

Bringing the album to a close, you have a pretty significant track in which (just as we had on the first Drama album as he hosted for specific places in the 'Dirty South') here he does one where New Orleans' big late nineties acts (including the murdered Soulja Slim). Personally, I'm not a fan of the hardcore work out of this city, but the way it is done with some funky beats from Nottz, you can't help but get down to it.

**Four Stars**

I saw this album as a bit of a disappointment as the debut official album from The Drama King, Barack O'Drama was such a kill record, featuring no weak cuts at all and here it just isn't doing what it should. You see that he has clearly made attempts in order to come across as appealing to the mainstream, but of course this puts off the listeners who will have followed his mixtape series as only the use of a few underground names affirms the fact that he has completely switched over to the commercial side.

Summary: DJ Drama's second album

Not heard of him but there seems to be some good collaborators on this. Great review as always.
