Don’t take a bit of notice of the title of this album it is far from Garbage, in fact this has been one of my favourite albums since the fateful day I brought it at my local Asda. I had heard nearly all of the singles released off of the album before I decided I should really buy it so off I trot, after searching all my local record stores the cheapest I could find it was 15 quid in HMV, lucky for me I needed a drink so I popped into Asda and to amuse myself I thought I’d check to see if they had it and woohooo there it was priced at a tenner, needless to say I was happy. Garbage consist of three American producers (Steve Markes, Duke Erikson and Butch Vig – the latter of Nirvana fame) and the vocal talents of Scottish chanteuse Shirley Manson (supplemented on most tracks here by Mike Kashou on bass). As such, they’re something of a supergroup, and indeed, they are a super group. Their sound, in case you don’t know, is quite unique and distinctive. The producers provide keyboards, samples loops and effects, in much the same way as dance records are made, but what they make is definitely a rock album. To be honest, I've found the quality of the opinions in this section to be severely lacking. Before writing this, I read through the top five to get a feel for what other people think about the album and see what comments have been made. I was dismayed to find that every single opinion was the seventy-five word minimum, and none said anything at all, really, about the album. This isn't so much a personal attack on the authors, as an attack on the readers who have been marking these as "Very Useful" when it is beyond comprehension to do so.
