Get A Grip has to be the best rock n roll album that the aerosmith boys have ever released, though they did seem to go a bit soft later on in the same way that Bon Jovi did. They do a great job of kick starting the album with the cracking track 'Eat The Rich' which is introduced with a rap style introduction before kicking into a full swing classic rock n roll romp. The album then goes on to introduce some of the best rock songs i've heard which had a strong controversial edge when it was first released. Tracks like 'Flesh' and 'Shut Up And Dance' give a whole new groove feel to rock music whilst ballads like 'Amazing' and 'Crying' are extremely original in nature and ... Read the complete review

Hard seventies rockers, Aerosmith fronted by the pronounced, ‘ugliest lead singer in rock‘, Steve Tyler had enjoyed a fairly steady career in blues/rock since the band’s birth in 1970. Committing themselves to the life of ‘on the road rockers,’ they immediately took their place along side the well established AC/DC, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. Shunning all accusations of being the U.S equivalents to The Rolling Stones, the composing ‘toxic twins’ of the band, namely Tyler and Joe Perry utilised a song writing partnership that would last until their brief falling out in 1980. This album opens up with a cool little rap intro that leaves the listener wondering just what is in store. Once again, Aerosmith uses whatever means necessary to achieve a unique sound with each album. After a four year stint between albums, Aerosmith returned in 1993 with Get a Grip. The album took the country by storm, producing multiple hit singles. This album is most famous for its string of hit ballads. But if you look past those songs, you’ll find that this album is actually quite good.
