Advantages: Some classic songs, good vocals

Disadvantages: A few slow boring songs

This album from 'Jet' came out back in 2003. This Australian outfit burst onto the scene with some big sounding songs. I really liked them, bought the album and I do really like it. I thought they would go on to bigger and better things. It does not seem to have quite worked out for them. But this album is a good one. Here is what I make of the songs:

1. Last Chance - Quite a short little burst, nothing special, but an ok start. 7/10

2. Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Brilliant. The most well known song on the album. 'She's so sweet with her get back stare!!' Good line. Really good song that rocks big time! 10/10

3. Roll Over DJ - Similar kind of sound, very upbeat. Feel like you should be out in the sunshine while you listen to this kind of music! 8/10

4. Look What You've Done - Really nice mellow song. Shows another side to the band. Really tender words, all round chilled out goodness. 8/10

5. Get What You Need - Sounds a little like 'Get your rocks off'. A decent song but nothing that really stands out in this one. 7/10

6. Move On - This one really reminds me off a 90's american band called 'The Wallflowers'. Quite a chilled song. I like it. 8/10

7. Radio Song - Not bad, but not to good. Not to rocky again, just a little boring though for some reason. 6/10

8. Get Me Outta Here - Bit more upbeat again this one. Quite like this one, has a real rock n roll kind of sound. 8/10

9. Cold Hard B***h - Something a bit special this one. Nice intro that builds up before the lyrics scream in!! Really powerful song filled with raw emotion. Tells of his love hate realationship with a rather lovely lady. Been there! All round excellent song! 10/10

10. Come Around Again - Another slower song. Quite a nice one, but a little bit to similar to some of the other tracks. 7/10

11. Take It Or Leave It - Faster than previous song. Takes a while to get going, quite a short rocky song. 7/10

12. Lazy Gun - Nice Baseline to start off. A decent song, but nothing to special. 8/10

13. Timothy - Slow and boring! Not much to say about this one, sorry. 5/10

14. Sgt. Major - Really good finish to the album. Nice sound to this one. Not fast but not slow either. Good words and good sounds. Glad they finished on a high with this one. 9/10

All round a really good album. The slower songs let it down I think, they should probably stick to doing upbeat songs as these are the ones that tend to stand out on the album. If you have not heard of this band, or if you have but have never paid much attention, I would say this is well worth a listen.

All round I give it 8/10

Summary: All round very good rock album
