This album, like most by Costello, is really fast paced, hitting you brilliant with more of that cynical rage that his is famous for.
The most noticable songs on this album that really are my timeless favourites are; "New Amsterdam," "High Fidelity," and "Secondary Modern". In fact his voice in "Secondary Modern" is smooth and dreamy, making me feel like a true 1950s chick. I truly lov...more |

This Costello Album really does request musically what it demands in its title. I listen to it whenever I have had a really sh*t day and it never fails to cheer me up. This is also a really good album to have on when you have friends round as it nods in the direction of loads of other genres of music, Motown, Northern soul, a bit ballady and a bit of gritty Southern soul. It wasn't given the credit at the time that it deserved originality jarring voice on occasion A great album of rare and unreleased material with a "best of" compilation attached. None to speak of.
