This is the third album from Sheryl Crow and is a little different from the others. There is much more of a departure from the Country & Western feel of older albums, to a more rock music style. My Favourite Mistake was her biggest hit from this album, which is also one of the best tracks here. It starts the album off and provides good solid music with guitar led rock music, the vocal is typical one moment and then quirky the next which blends well together. There is an ever-so-slight musical shift evident in this, Sheryl's third album, away from the upbeat, even slightly poppy nature of her previous albums towards a more depressed, rockier note, and this may disappoint some of those who enjoyed those earlier albums. As a stand-alone album it sounds great; but it doesn't really sound like a Sheryl Crow album. The various influences - jazz, hip-hop - have been toned down a lot, so there are now just subtle changes of genre.
