 ... to associate with the band Reef. When I first heard 'Place Your Hands' I couldn't work out the lyrics and I didn't know what it was about. All I knew was that Reef seemed to take my liking, I enjoyed the guitar work, and the sound of the voice. Don't get me wrong, Gary wasn't screaming the words, or shouting like death metal. C'mon, you have to agree with me, the first song on this album IS the reason we know Reef. Reef released their first album in 1995, which was Replenish, but the first track on their second album, Glow, is pure Reef. Place Your Hands made me notice the band, especially when it reached Number 6 in October 1996. The album made Reef into double Platinum status and they grew from there. In January 1997 they released their second single Come Back Brighter and when released in February, the album Glow went straight to Number one in the album charts and knocked the Spice Girls from top spot...thank god.
