You would think judging by the success of this Album that it would be anything less than good. To my amazement, a fan of the Pop Idol fan, i thought this would be pure pop and ballads, which is exaclty what it is but so much better than i thought it would be like. Despite a pure lashing for this album from the press and media i honestly think this is quite good. It is a considerbly good followup to another good-un by Gareth ''What My Heart Wants To Say''. The songs are pop, and ballads but are of a good standard. ''Go Your Own Way'' perhaps is a purpose phrase indicating a movement in path by Gareth, perhaps a path dictated and desired by Gareth.

When i first heard this album, it was nothing like how i thought it would be. There was Gareth without the 2-2-1 hair formation, with a new hair style, new sense of sound, and probably a turn around. To be honest, i was shocked and did not think i would like this new image, but i really do not think it is all bad. The album has two disks.

The first disk untitled ''Night'' is mainly filled of great pop, dancy, rocky, all of the tracks featured in disk one are catchy.

''Sunshine'' is a mellow and relativley good song, which i at first found catchy and quite different to Gareth. But as i expected it is not as bad as every media and press magazine would have you believe. You have probably heard this, but it is a good song, and i really do find it very catchy - catchy enough to make me bop along!

''Groove With Me'' is written by Gates. My first impression of this impression was quite shocking, because i did not Gareth could sing or indeed suit a track like this. It was very different then it expected. But i do think this is again great pop, and now think it suits him well.

''Aboustley'' is again written by Gates. This is perhaps about fame and methaphorically about Gates longing after a Gir
l, who he has now got and is now in terms bragging about it. I do think this is considerablly good, i think again it is quite catchy, and certainley think it would suit a dance club perfectly and you could not resist bopping along to it.

''All Cried Out'' is distinctive, by the first time i heard the track i thought not bad, by the second i was miming the song along with Gates. This is a good song, and is of single quality - even though most of Gareth's fans suggested this would be released but then mutually agreed he should not as it would not spark any critics, or chart well. I really think this is a mellow pop, catchy and is one of my faviourites.

''Enough Of Me'' is quite good, i think this is quite a mellow and poppy song which blends well with the album but is more of less a filler, which i think it shows some muturatity on Gates part. This is a considerably good.

''Go Your Own Way'' is almost about Gates change in direction of music. I think of this track as a classic on Gates part. Although it does not make you jump out of your chair and dance away, it does spark something in you.

''Just Say Yes'' is a good track, once again written by Gates. It has a catchy line ''If you need to come over just say yes''. I could not stop hopping along to this. Quite Good!

''Freak My Baby'' is everything you would expect from Gareth - it is aimed at his main audience, its teen-like, it is catchy, dancy and basically good pop - Love it!

''Club Hoppin'' is again another great catchy, pop song, very dancy and club-like. I think if you where to play this in a club, it would make people do exaclty what it says in the title ''Club Hoppin''. I certainley hopped along to this!

''Soul Affection'' is a good ballad, one which ampilifies Gates voice and shows his matutity, it sai
d to me that Gates is perhaps not a bad singer and artist then he is given credit for in the press, this is great.

Disk 2, is the ''day'' cd, in this double cd album from Gareth Gates.

''Spirit In The Sky'' is an excellent and outstanding song which Gates brings in the 21st century, it really shows Gareth at his best.

''Say It Isn't So'' is a heartwarming ballad, which to me came across as meaningful and deepful. Gates voice just makes it sound so sincere, and realistic - he really acts this song out. I really like this, fantastic ballad.

''Skeletons'' is catchy pop, i would probably have expected this to be released as a single, this really made me think differently of Gareth. It is catchy, i think Gareth pulls off a good song.

''Listen To My Heart'' is a another ballad from Gates on this album. I think more or less Gates excels himself here, this sounds good, and is a good ballad.

''Foolish'' is probably what i would excepted from Gates after his first album. This is in some effect quite catchy, good pop where Gates sounds great!

''Too Soon To Say Goodbye'' is a song with a catchy rhythm which makes you move from side to side and Gates makes the song with his voice move it on. This is a good balad, with a touch of rock, soul and jazz with pop mixed with it.

''Lies'' is perhaps meaningful where it almost made me feel Gates sings with passion. It is another good ballad with rock and pop flowing through it as well.

''Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now'' sounds quite good, it is another ballad you would except from Gareth with some poppy lyrics to make it sound really good.

''It Happen's Everytime'' is quite outstanding where i think Gareth sings with passion. This is a song with a overflowing rhythm, with l
oud instruments and Gates voice making it sound outstanding. This is a great passionate, romantic song.

I think this album is considerablly good. The album is a mixture of great pop and ballads with a selection of varied tracks all catchy and meaningful. This is truly in my opinion a great follow-up from Gates debut ''What My Heart Wants To Say''. I would describe this as a selection of excellent pop from a excellent artist.
